Diagnostic dripping

Sometimes it is necessary to examine your eyes more extensively.
For this, the optometrist can use diagnostic eye drops, each with a specific effect:
Tropicamide
Temporarily dilates the pupil, making the inside of the eye clearly visible.
• Effect: ± 8 hours
• Participation in traffic is discouraged as long as the pupils are dilated.
Cyclopentolate
Temporarily disables the eye's focusing. This is necessary if hidden farsightedness (plus prescription) is suspected. Children in particular can often still compensate well for this plus prescription. The pupils are also dilated.
• Effect: ± 24 hours
• Participation in traffic is discouraged while it is working.
Oxybuprocaine
Briefly numbs the cornea for measurements such as contact eye pressure check or tear film examination.
• Effect: ± 30 minutes
• Do not rub your eyes and do not wear contact lenses while it is working.
