Eye measurements

Eye measurement by an optician or contact lens specialist.

During a standard eye examination, we chart your vision and assess how your eyes work together.

The appointment consists of:

• Anamnesis (discussion of your vision and any complaints)

• Measurement of visual acuity (sharpness of vision) without correction

• Check for binocular imbalance

• Determination of visual acuity with the best correction

• Intraocular pressure measurement

If there is reason for further investigation, we will refer you to our optometrist.

Eye measurement by an optometrist

An optometric measurement is more comprehensive and also focuses on the health of your eyes.

• Extensive anamnesis

• Vision measurement without correction

• Eye measurement and correction of binocular imbalance

• Examination with a microscope and retinal camera

• Check of the tear film

• Intraocular pressure measurement with corneal thickness measurement

Our HBO-trained optometrists carefully assess whether your eyes are healthy. If necessary, a referral to your general practitioner or specialist will follow. In some cases, treatment may be started immediately, for example for dry eyes.
